The Google Photos service makes it easier to track activity in shared albums with a new Updates section. This section will display notifications about changes in shared albums and updates in conversations within Google Photos.
The Updates section can be accessed by clicking on the bell icon, which has replaced the Sharing button (the icon with two people). Updates are displayed chronologically, allowing users to view activity from "today, yesterday, this week, this month, last month, and earlier."
"We aim to simplify the viewing of recent activity with an interface that makes albums, groups, and conversations more accessible," explains the Google Photos team.
Google also notes that access to shared albums can now be obtained through a new Collections section.
The new Updates page is already being rolled out in the Google Photos apps for Android and iOS. Full deployment of the update in some regions may take several weeks.
