At the Xbox Showcase, BioWare unveiled the first trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The trailer showcased player companions, hinted at some familiar faces, and announced that the game will be released in the fall of 2024.
The almost two-minute video introduces several characters with whom players will be able to travel in the new Dragon Age. Among them are Benara, a leap through the veil, who jumps out of a portal but gets dragged back in; the hourglass Davrin; the necromancer Embrich; the detective Neve; the mage killer Lukanis; and the dragon hunter Taash.
BioWare previously confirmed that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will focus on seven companions, which led to a change in the game's title. It seems that all companions are revealed in the trailer.
Additionally, the trailer showcases two faces that should be familiar to long-time fans of the series: Varric and Leis Harding. Both play a kind of leading role in the trailer, indicating their significant roles in the game. Varric was first introduced in Dragon Age II as Hawke's companion, while Harding appeared in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The trailer announces the game's release window - fall 2024. It has been almost 10 years since the release of Inquisition, so fans have been waiting for the game for a long time. The gameplay demonstration of Dragon Age: The Veilguard will take place on June 11.
