The highly anticipated Civilization 7 from Firaxis Games is still a few months away, but the developers are gradually teasing the content. Introducing the first seven civilizations, with more to come.

On its website, Firaxis has listed seven civilizations that will be available in the game. Civilization 7 will allow players to lead Axum, Egypt, Greece, the Maya, the Moors, Rome, and the Shawnee. In addition to ancient civilizations, the game will also cover the Age of Exploration—but unfortunately, this will only be available in paid DLC (where the Shawnee will also be featured). The developer notes that there will be many more civilizations beyond those presented.

Fans immediately began speculating about what other civilizations might appear. A thread on Reddit discussing Firaxis's announcement provides insight into players' wishes for the representation of various cultures in the game. Leading the suggestions are the Incas, China, and Japan, along with many other proposals.

The already announced civilizations have also been well-received—fans seem pleased with Firaxis’s initial lineup. One commenter expressed they are "very happy to see the Maya from the start," while others praised the remaining options: "Finally, an Indian civilization focused on military and scientific matters."

The official Civilization 7 website offers detailed information about each civilization. The eagerly awaited strategy game from Firaxis is set to launch on February 11, 2025. Thus, there are only five months left until the release—quite a short wait considering it's been 8 years since the sixth game came out.
