After a lengthy car chase captured by a helicopter camera, the man was eventually apprehended, and the footage turned out to closely resemble a live-action version of events from GTA.
According to police (via Carscoops), the armed suspect initially approached a motorist, stole his wallet, phone, and some personal items, and just a few minutes later, found himself fleeing from the cops. Ultimately, he was located in a BMW 6-Series Convertible that was acting suspiciously on the streets (though police have not yet determined where the suspect acquired the vehicle) and was captured on helicopter footage.
Judging by the video later shared online, the driver seemed to have played too much GTA, as he frequently veered into oncoming traffic and disregarded stop signs, despite the heavy flow of vehicles. In a dramatic finale, he crashed at high speed into another car, causing his vehicle to spin out and careen off the road.
The BMW sustained significant damage, while the man quickly stood up and attempted to flee on foot. The unfortunate suspect was soon apprehended by the police, who discovered a rifle during the vehicle search—thankfully, there was no continuation in the style of Counter-Strike.
