According to Forbes, Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani is ninth in the ranking of the world's richest people with a fortune of $118 billion. He heads Reliance Industries, a conglomerate that spans various industries from oil and gas to telecommunications.
As CNBC notes, over the weekend, Ambani organized a lavish three-day celebration before the wedding of his youngest son Anant, scheduled for the end of the year. Judging by the videos that went viral on social media, the festivities began with a performance by Rihanna, and among the guests were noted famous tech moguls - Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg's presence makes sense: in 2020, Facebook invested $5.7 billion in Jio Platforms Limited, owned by Reliance Industries, and in 2022, Meta released a feature that allows users to view and purchase products on the JioMart app in WhatsApp. Microsoft and some other companies also collaborate with Reliance Industries.
Among the guests at the event, which took place in the city of Jamnagar in the Indian state of Gujarat, was also the "Bollywood king" Shah Rukh Khan, as well as Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former US President Donald Trump.
According to Reuters, the list of invitees included 1200 people, and 100 chefs were invited to treat them to 500 different dishes. Guests were provided with charter planes from New Delhi and Mumbai, as well as the services of hairdressers, makeup artists, and stylists.
