Apple has announced that the Vision Pro virtual reality headset priced at $3499 will be available worldwide starting from June 28. The first countries outside the US to receive the Vision Pro will be China, Japan, and Singapore (pre-orders from June 13). They will be followed by Germany, France, Australia, the UK, and Canada, where sales will start on July 12 (pre-orders available from June 28).

Recently, Apple has reduced the production of Vision Pro due to low demand. Its price on the secondary market has significantly dropped, and it is quite easy to find the headset on eBay with a discount of $1000 or more. Entering the international market is expected to improve the situation.

Apple also announced VisionOS 2, the second version of the operating system for Vision Pro. Apple has updated the Photos program — pressing a button allows users to create spatial photos from regular images. The airplane travel mode now includes a train mode as well.

The company updated the virtual display function for Mac — now it is equivalent to two 4K displays with a new option for a virtual ultrawide display. The display unfolds like a curved ultrawide monitor. Apple also added SharePlay to the VisionOS Photos app — allowing users to share the app with another Vision Pro owner using Spatial Personas.

Apple also reported that Canon is releasing a new spatial lens for the EOS R7, specifically designed for creating content for Vision Pro. The company says it will release its first immersive video with a script for the platform.
