One of Amazon's senior technical specialists bragged on social media about earning a significant amount while doing almost nothing at the company. For some time, he worried about being exposed, but the e-commerce giant has yet to discover his antics.
“I joined Amazon 1.5 years ago after being fired from Google, with the intention of ‘doing nothing,’ getting paid, and eventually being exposed,” — the man wrote anonymously on Reddit (via hindustantimes).
He clarified that he works as a senior manager in one of the technical divisions with a salary of $370,000 per year.
“Without exaggeration, I have accomplished 0 of the key objectives,” — he added, referring to Amazon's internal employee evaluation system.
During this time, he resolved a total of 7 requests and set up one automated dashboard, which he created in 3 days using ChatGPT (however, he reported to management that it took 3 months). The manager noted that he is still working at Amazon, where he spends most of his 8-hour workday in meetings.
In the comments to the post, which later spread to Twitter, people had divided opinions on this practice:
