An open-source Linux program by Jessie Lee called Open and Shut, available on GitHub, allows entering messages in Morse code by opening and closing the laptop lid. Its functionality was demonstrated on a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop. Of course, not every laptop can withstand prolonged input in this way.

It is hard to imagine practical cases where such input may be needed, although further development may make the program more versatile. This method can hardly be called covert input, except in specific cases—movements of the laptop lid are very noticeable, and the laptop itself is not a small object. Also, few would want to risk breaking the laptop screen.

Earlier, there were reports about a modification for transmitting and receiving Morse code messages on Raspberry Pi and Pi Zero W mod, which converts Telegram messages into Morse code and flashing light. Morse code is still quite valuable for applications where other electronic methods are unavailable or may fail, including communication on airplanes/boats and in rescue situations.

However, the open-source program can be used for keyboard input or other methods. Currently, it is an experiment without any practical purpose.
