A blow to overbuying. "Ukrzaliznytsia introduces verification through Diya.Signature for ticket purchases

Ukrzaliznytsia has decided to expand access to international tickets solely for verified users. As noted by the company's press service, starting from August 1, 2024, ticket sales for routes No. 19/20 Kyiv — Chełm — Kyiv, No. 23/24 Kyiv — Chełm — Kyiv, No. 51/52 Kyiv — Przemyśl — Kyiv, No. 89/90 Kyiv — Przemyśl — Kyiv, and No. 73/74 Kharkiv — Przemyśl — Kharkiv in the app and on the new "Ukrzaliznytsia" ticket sales website will be conducted exclusively with verification through "Dія.Підпис". Previously, such verification was applied to ticket sales for routes to/from Warsaw and Vienna.

It is highlighted that this decision is a temporary measure during peak transportation periods aimed at combating the abnormal activity of resellers. Currently, specialists at Ukrzaliznytsia are blocking up to 50 attempts of bulk ticket purchases daily. Ticket speculators can easily change their phone numbers to continue their activities. This reseller activity also slows down the system and prevents honest passengers from being able to reliably plan their travels. Implementing verification through "Dія.Підпис" will render such speculative activities impossible.

At the same time, to meet the needs of foreign users who cannot access "Dія", Ukrzaliznytsia will maintain the current system for accessing international tickets for at least one route in each direction: Odesa — Przemyśl, Kharkiv — Chełm, Dnipro — Chełm, Kyiv — Przemyśl, Chop — Vienna, Mukachevo — Košice, Lviv — Warsaw, Kyiv — Chișinău, among others.

It is also worth reminding about the selling timeline for international tickets by Ukrzaliznytsia:

• Polish routes (Przemyśl, Dorohusk, Chełm, Warsaw) — 20 days before departure, sales start at 09:00;
• Slovak and Austrian routes — 20 days, sales start at 08:00;
• Moldovan routes — 30 days, sales start at 08:00.
