Almost immediately after showcasing the capabilities of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype, the Chinese company officially unveiled the production version of its most powerful electric vehicle. While the specifications have been revealed in greater detail, it shares many similarities with the prototype.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra serves as a technological showcase, highlighting the company's ambitions in the automotive sector. This powerful electric car competes with models such as the Zeekr 001 FR, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, Tesla Model S Plaid, and Lucid Air Sapphire.
Equipped with three electric motors — two Xiaomi V8s and one Xiaomi V6 — the SU7 Ultra generates a total output of 1526 hp. This enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds, comparable to a hypercar's capabilities. The electric car can reach a top speed of 350 km/h and completes a quarter-mile sprint (402 meters) in 9.23 seconds.
The electric motors are powered by a 93.7 kWh Qilin 2.0 battery developed by CATL. This advanced battery features a dual-surface cooling system, a special CTB design for enhanced safety and rigidity, as well as rapid charging at 5.2C. Thus, it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 11 minutes.
While based on the standard SU7 sedan design, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra adds sporty touches. It features a large rear spoiler, a wider body, and aggressive bumpers, giving it a bold and more aggressive appearance. These aerodynamic enhancements generate an additional downforce of 265 kg, keeping the car glued to the road at high speeds. The SU7 Ultra rides on 21-inch wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero 5 tires.
In the interior, Alcantara covers the seats, door panels, and various elements, while carbon fiber accents adorn the door sills, center console, and rearview mirror. Sports seats with yellow seatbelts and an Alcantara-covered steering wheel complete the cabin's sporty accents.
The price of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in China is 814,900 yuan, equivalent to €102,900. This makes the sports electric vehicle significantly cheaper than many of its competitors, even in the Chinese market. Series production of the SU7 Ultra is expected to commence in March 2025, but customers can already place pre-orders.
Goldman Sachs forecasts sales of around 4,000 units in 2025, which is a modest figure for an electric vehicle, but not too shabby for a hypercar. However, consumer sentiment differs — within the first 10 minutes after the official presentation of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, 3,680 orders were already placed.
