Ubisoft is developing a cooperative mode for its upcoming game, Assassin's Creed Shadows. The developers intend to release this mode after the official launch of the game.
Journalist Tom Henderson revealed this information based on his confidential sources.
The new cooperative mode is code-named LEAGUE. The Ubisoft team is currently hard at work creating it. However, the exact release date for the mode is still unknown due to the recent delay in the game's release.
The postponement of the Assassin's Creed Shadows launch has impacted the entire production process of the Assassin's Creed series. Nevertheless, Henderson's sources indicate that the development of the LEAGUE mode began well before the decision to delay the game. This suggests that the cooperative mode is not merely additional content created in response to the delay.
While specific details about the cooperative gameplay are still scarce, it can be assumed that players will be able to control the characters of Naoe and Yasuke. They will likely fight side by side, utilizing their unique combat abilities to overcome enemies.
LEAGUE is not the only multiplayer project within the Assassin's Creed universe. Assassin's Creed Invictus is scheduled for release in 2025 as a fully-fledged multiplayer game in the franchise.
Ubisoft is also working on other projects in the franchise. These include a remake of Assassin's Creed Black Flag under the code name Obsidian. Additionally, there is a project in development called Codename Hexe, which the developers describe as the darkest game in the Assassin's Creed series.
