On the next day, as the Yuzu emulator for Nintendo Switch completely shut down its operations due to a lawsuit from Nintendo, it is still unclear what other emulator community members should be wary of. While they have taken a wait-and-see approach and tried to minimize potential losses (at least not to pay $2.4 million, like Tropic Haze, the creator of the Yuzu emulator).

The developer of the popular Nintendo DS emulator Drastic has just made his application completely free for Android (previously it cost $4.99) and intends to remove it permanently. Developer Exophase wrote on his official Discord page, "I want to make it clear that I have no financial incentives," and that Nintendo's move simply "made the whole process more urgent," reports The Verge.

Meanwhile, the popular Discord server for Steam Deck has temporarily closed its entire emulation channel, writing, "Currently, we are unable to deal with the potential legal consequences of discussing Yuzu or emulation" and apologized for the "need for censorship."

The Discord server for Ryujinx, another Nintendo Switch emulator, is no longer accepting invitations.

Another second-order effect: without Yuzu and Citra (the Nintendo 3DS emulator, which also disappeared due to Nintendo's legal department), "all-in-one" emulation providers, such as the popular EmuDeck, are forced to look for base emulators elsewhere. EmuDeck returns to Ryujinx for Nintendo Switch emulation and tests Panda3DS instead of Citra.
