'Almost got fired': Helldivers 2 community manager on Discord got in trouble for commenting on PSN situation

A community manager of Helldivers 2 players in Discord with the nickname Spitz suddenly stopped posting comments after a situation that arose over the weekend around the game. Recall, Sony had to cancel the decision to make Helldivers 2 binding to a PlayStation Network account on PC unavailable in many countries due to user pressure.

It seems that in commenting on the situation, Spitz said something that outraged the management. On Monday, he returned to the channel and answered questions about the dismissal.

“Almost, not quite. It turned out that publishers don't like to talk to people about negative reviews and game refunds. But I'm still here and glad we've changed the situation”.

Over the weekend, Spitz told angry Discord channel members that negative Steam reviews would be a more effective way to influence Sony, and that the developers of the Arrowhead game are not happy with how things turned out.

“Players who express their dissatisfaction with reviews, refunds, etc., give us more weight in discussions with Sony. It hurts to see the game's popularity drop in rankings, but the discussion continues, and we are on the players' side in this struggle,” Spitz wrote on Saturday.

In fact, the community manager, who came to this position from within, publicly supported users on behalf of Arrowhead and called for some actions. Probably, he did not have the authority for this or Sony did not like his actions, but he did not write in the community for a long time. It is not clear what the status of "almost" means regarding dismissal, but it may include some restrictions.
