Expected to launch in October, the OnePlus 13 smartphone will feature the new flagship processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Initial benchmark results for this device have already surfaced on Geekbench 6, where the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has established itself as the fastest processor for smartphones. The recently unveiled A18 chip, found in the iPhone 16, pales in comparison to Qualcomm's new offering, and a comparison with last year's A17 Pro highlights an even greater advantage.
Insider Digital Chat Station shared a screenshot showing the test results of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in the OnePlus 13. The device utilizes a 2+6 core configuration, with performance cores running at a frequency of 4.32 GHz, surpassing the 4.04 GHz of the A18. Accompanying the processor, the smartphone is equipped with 16 GB of RAM.
The single-core score of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is 3236 points, which is slightly lower than the A18's score of 3409 points in the same test. However, the multi-core result shows a clear advantage. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 achieved an impressive score of 10049 points, making it 18% faster than the updated A18 scores and 39% faster than the A17 Pro found in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Considering these results, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 may even compete with the M3 chip, although it still lags behind Apple's processor. However, it is important to note that these are two very different classes of chipsets.
