Samsung has started developing sneakers. But for now, it's not worth counting on a lineup under the Galaxy brand: the company has released a unique limited series of sneakers that control a Samsung smartphone with movements. What do you think about that, Tim Cook?
The Shortcut sneakers were developed by Samsung in collaboration with Cheil Benelux, Elitac Wearables, Brut Amsterdam, and sneaker designer Roel van Hoff. The company calls them "sneakers of the future" because they can be considered smart sneakers.
There are only 9 pairs of such sneakers in existence.
The Shortcut sneakers will help perform certain actions on a Samsung smartphone with leg movements. For example, you can take a flawless moonwalk and the phone will call your mom. You can dance the cha-cha to make it play music (such examples are given by SamMobile).
This became possible thanks to motion sensors in the sole, which track their position relative to each other. You can launch five shortcuts with five unique movements. There are many fun customization options here.
Samsung developed The Shortcut Sneaker specifically for its fans in Samsung Members. Roel van Hoff came up with a unique design inspired by the Galaxy series devices, the design reminiscent of meteors and stars. Every detail refers to Samsung Galaxy products.
There is a giveaway of these sneakers exclusively for Samsung Members fans in the Netherlands, who can participate through the app until July 9, 2024. Samsung will announce the winner in the second week of July.
