OnePlus has officially launched its new flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 13, powered by the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The device also features a flagship BOE display, an IP69 rating (now resistant to high-pressure water exposure), and a larger 6000 mAh battery.
In designing the OnePlus 13, engineers opted for a departure from the curved displays seen in previous models. Instead, they have implemented a 2.5D quadrilateral structure. The display appears flat but has subtle curves on all sides. As a result, the OnePlus 13 is slightly shorter than its predecessor but still boasts a 6.82-inch diagonal.
The OnePlus 13 features a flagship X2 display from BOE. This is an 8T LTPO OLED panel with a resolution of 1440p and a variable refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz. The typical brightness is now at 800 nits, while the peak brightness reaches 4500 nits. Another new addition is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in the OnePlus 13 is paired with either 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM and offers storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB. The battery has been upgraded to 6000 mAh. The device supports fast wired charging at 100 W and wireless charging at 50 W.
Another subtle external enhancement is the new vibration motor featuring “game controller-level feedback.” The manufacturer claims that with a volume of 602 mm³, this is the largest vibration motor ever installed in an Android phone.
On the rear, there's a triple camera system branded with Hasselblad, which includes 50-megapixel sensors. The main module uses a Sony LYT-808 sensor, features optical image stabilization, and has a 23 mm focal length. The telephoto module, based on the Sony LYT-600 sensor, utilizes a periscope design with 3x optical zoom (73 mm). The ultra-wide module, capable of macro photography, is based on a Samsung S5KJN5 sensor and has a 15 mm focal length.
The version of the smartphone for the Chinese market runs on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. The international devices are expected to launch with OxygenOS 15.
The new OnePlus 13 smartphone will go on sale in China starting November 1 in white, obsidian, and blue colors. The international version will be released later.
