The February survey by Kantar Ukraine shows that Ukrainians actively follow the development of AI - nearly 79% of respondents know what it is, but only 29% have used the technology in practice.
The highest experience of using AI is among young people aged 18-29 years (41%) and residents of the capital (37%).
At the same time, the share of Ukrainians who have had experience using ChatGPT has increased: 33% compared to 26% in April 2023. The highest rates of using the OpenAI chatbot are also among young people aged 18-29 years (47%), residents of Kyiv (46%), and individuals who describe their financial situation as above average (41%).
Compared to April 2023, the share of those who used AI-based image creation services has also increased (13% compared to 10% in April 2023). For a third of Chat GTP users, it is more of a form of entertainment than a reliable source of information.
When it comes to artificial intelligence, Ukrainians primarily associate it with:

- Job loss/profession devaluation - 18%
- Positive attitude - 16%
- Leading to human degradation - 15%
Meanwhile, over 40% of respondents expressed doubt that they can recognize text written by ChatGPT or another AI-based program, and another 38% had difficulty answering. At the same time, 20% of Ukrainians claim they can recognize text written by an artificial intelligence program, not a human.
Over a third of respondents fully trust or trust text generated by artificial intelligence (34%). While 25% disagree with this statement and do not trust text if it is written by ChatGPT or another AI-based program, not a human.
At the same time, survey participants are skeptical about the idea of calling what AI creates art. Thus, 38% of respondents do not consider paintings created by AI as real art, and 35% agree that music generated by AI has nothing to do with art.
