Intel has announced the postponement of its Intel Innovation 2024 event to next year. This event has been held annually since Pat Gelsinger took over the company.

The Intel Innovation event is aimed at partners and developers who want to collaborate with Intel and each other. Typically, the company hosts talks from executives and experts on various topics. Intel also announces its key products and shares information about upcoming solutions.

For instance, during Intel Innovation 2021, the 12th generation Core desktop processors, known as Adler Lake, were announced. At Intel Innovation 2022, the 13th generation Core processors, Raptor Lake, were revealed, and in 2023, the Core Ultra 100 processors, Meteor Lake, were introduced.

This year, the announcement of the upcoming Core Ultra 200 processors, Arrow Lake, was anticipated—not just for mobile devices but also for desktop systems. Now, with the event canceled, the future of these chips is uncertain. Among other things, demonstrations of the Xeon 6 server processors and the Gaudi 3 AI accelerator were expected. Additionally, updates regarding the production technologies, specifically Intel's 20A and 18A nodes, were anticipated.

In explaining its decision to postpone the Intel Innovation 2024 event to next year, the company mentioned that the financial situation has turned out to be more complex than expected. This aligns with Intel's cost-saving plan, which entails reducing its workforce by over 15,000 employees.

Intel Innovation 2024 has officially been postponed to 2025, but a specific date has yet to be announced. The company noted that "smaller events" will take place. Therefore, it can be expected that the announcement for the Arrow Lake processors will occur separately—possibly during a themed exhibition.

It is also worth noting that the company has already announced plans to showcase the Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake processors at the IFA event on September 3. The decision to delay the 2024 Innovation event will not affect these plans.
