Honor has launched the new Honor X9c smartphone, touted as the most durable phone in the brand's history.
The new device can withstand drops from a height of up to 2 meters and ranks first in the SGS Comprehensive Reliability rating. Its exterior is scratch-resistant and has been tested by being rubbed with metal shavings 3000 times. The phone can operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -30 °C to 55 °C. It also boasts an IP65M rating, where “M” signifies 360° protection from water jets. While Honor has some models with an IP69 rating, it is the combination of all these features that makes the X9c the most robust of all.
Honor X9c features a 6.78-inch curved OLED display with a resolution of 2700x1224 pixels, offering 10-bit color delivery and a brightness of up to 4000 nits. PWM dimming is controlled at a frequency of 3840 Hz. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor. Users can choose from memory configurations of 8/256 GB, 12/256 GB, and 12/512 GB.
On the back, it features a dual-camera setup. This includes a 108-megapixel 1/1.67-inch main sensor with OIS and a 5-megapixel ultra-wide module. The camera supports 3x optical zoom without quality loss and can record videos in 4K. The front-facing 16-megapixel camera captures 1080p video.
Honor X9c is powered by a 6600 mAh battery, providing up to 26 hours of online video playback. It supports fast charging at 66W. The device also includes Wi-Fi 5 (ac), Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC connectivity modules, stereo speakers with a marketed volume of 300%, although it lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. The new smartphone runs on MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14.
The Honor X9c is already available in select regions, starting at $340 for the 12/256 GB version.
