Greece will not send S-300 missiles to Ukraine - this was stated by the representative of the Greek government Pavlos Marinakis. The news specifically mentions missiles, but it probably also applies to the S-300 complexes.
"There must be a limit to fake news, especially when they are related to the interests of the country and its international image. There is no such thing, and I categorically deny it. Greece had no intention to endanger the country's defense."
The likelihood of Greece transferring S-300 missiles to Ukraine has increased against the backdrop of the country's negotiations with the USA. Allegedly, Greece was offered to consider transferring Soviet military equipment to Ukraine in exchange for F-35 aircraft and financial assistance in purchasing weapons.
Marinakis' statement supposedly refers specifically to the S-300 PMU1, but Greece also has other means of air defense: the "Tor-M1," "Osa-M" SAM systems and ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns in quantities exceeding 500 units - however, some of them are already installed on BMP-1 vehicles.
In addition to selling fighter jets, the USA offered military transport aircraft, engines for patrol aircraft, dozens of Bradley IFVs free of charge, and also discussed the sale of three frigates to the country.
