Minecraft, one of the best-selling games of all time, celebrates its 15th anniversary. The countdown starts from May 17, 2009, when the "Cave Game" was released - the first iteration of what would soon become Minecraft.

To celebrate, Google has added several "Easter eggs" to the search engine for key words. In particular, if you enter the name "Minecraft" (both from a computer and in the mobile web version or Google app), at the bottom of the page you will see a block of grass from the game, which, when clicked, will open the game mode - the user will be offered to play as the cult character Steve, who will break elements on the screen to uncover part of the Minecraft world.

By scrolling down the search page further, you can discover additional Minecraft fragments, including caves. If you "dig" deeper, you can find ore, TNT, etc., and the counter on the left side of the screen will keep track of how many blocks you have destroyed.

The game also works for other search queries - for example "Minecraft Bedrock Edition", "Minecraft Dungeons", as well as other versions of the game, or if you enter the name Steve.

Minecraft is one of the best-selling games of all time, with a circulation of 300 million copies. A Minecraft movie adaptation is currently in development - starring Jack Black as Steve, as well as Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks ("Orange is the New Black"), Sebastian Yudje Hansen ("Judge Dredd") and Emma Myers ("Wednesday") among the cast.

The plot details are unknown, but it will definitely touch on the game's theme - the previous description was as follows: "A teenage girl and an unusual group of adventurers must save the world from the Ender Dragon." The release date for the Minecraft movie has been set for April 4, 2025.
