Exhale: NVIDIA RTX 5090 will have only one 16-pin connector

A small Chinese power supply manufacturer, Segotep, has confirmed in a conversation that the NVIDIA RTX 5090 will not feature two 16-pin connectors, as previously rumored.

The brand is not widely represented in the market but actively engages with customers on Chinese social media. Users can read reviews of current products and ask questions. A representative from Segotep was asked on Bilibili whether there was a reason to be concerned about the RTX 5090 supposedly having dual 16-pin power connectors.

While there wasn't any solid basis for this information, people began to worry. ATX 3.1/PCIe 5.1 power supplies are still relatively rare, not to mention those that have two 12V-2×6 connectors. It turns out that manufacturers already have specifications for future NVIDIA graphics cards, and a company representative reassured a user:

“User: A 1300W power supply is being sold for 1600. Is it possible to have two 16-pin connectors? What if the 5090 requires two 16-pin connectors?”

As noted, the manufacturer also mentioned a meeting in January—which suggests the graphics cards will be available by then. This supports rumors about the presentation of the NVIDIA RTX 5090 at CES 2025, taking place from January 7-10 in Las Vegas.
