Marvel has made Thor's hammer very popular, and Asus showcased a working model at Computex 2024. However, attacking someone with Mjolnir is not a very good idea, but it also has electricity in it because it is a uninterruptible power source (UPS) and a charging station.
Despite the fact that uninterruptible power sources can be useful for keeping computers and devices running during power outages, they are not so necessary for most people to think about. Asus' Mjolnir is designed to interest users in UPSs and also offers many additional features.
The "Mjolnir" UPS looks like an upside-down Thor's hammer. In fact, the "handle" is a flashlight that charges wirelessly when it is on the base. In a dark house during a power outage, it will be useful in the darkness of the house.
The "hammer" has four electrical outlets, two 10W USB Type-A ports, and two USB-C ports, at 100W and 65W. The digital display shows how much of the 768W-h full charge is left in the built-in battery, as well as other information about device consumption. Devices with Qi support can be wirelessly charged from the top.
Asus first revealed the appearance of this device in April, when it could have been taken as an April Fools' joke. However, now in Ukraine, power sources are not funny at all, and Asus' Thor's hammer could come in handy.
