Along with the long-awaited OLED iPad Pro, Apple also released new accessories for its tablets: a slightly updated Magic Keyboard and Pencil Pro stylus.
The new Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro (M4) is available in two colors (black and silver) and two sizes: for the 11- and 13-inch models. However, it is not compatible with the new 11- and 13-inch iPad Air models announced today, or with previous iPad Pro models.
The new version of the Apple Magic Keyboard features an aluminum palm rest and a larger trackpad with tactile feedback. There are also a number of functional keys available. This will bring the iPad Pro even closer to a laptop. As before, the device uses a single USB-C port (for charging only).
The updated Apple Magic Keyboard is priced at $299 and $349 for the 11- and 13-inch versions of the iPad Pro (M4), respectively.
Previous leaks were confirmed - Apple introduced the new Apple Pencil Pro stylus. It offers a new compression gesture, gyroscope, tactile feedback, support for Find My, and more.
The new sensor in the Apple Pencil Pro allows users to compress the stylus to bring up a tool palette for quick switching between tools, line thicknesses, and colors. In addition, the new gyroscope allows users to rotate the Apple Pencil Pro for precise control over pens and brushes.
The new tactile mechanism provides light feedback when users compress, use double tap, or Smart Shape. Apple Pencil Pro is the first Apple stylus with Find My support, helping users locate the accessory if it is lost.
The Apple Pencil Pro connects, charges, and stores on the side panel of the newly announced iPad Pro and iPad Air models today, which feature a new magnetic interface. This stylus is not compatible with other iPad models.
The price of the Apple Pencil Pro is $129. The novelty is already available for order, and actual sales will start on May 15.
