Counterpoint Research has published the list of the most popular smartphones worldwide, based on manufacturers' sales in the third quarter of 2024.
As is customary, Apple devices dominate the top spots, and it’s hardly surprising that the gold medal goes to the iPhone 15. The second and third places are claimed by the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro, respectively.
Regarding Samsung devices, this time the Galaxy S24 Ultra is missing from the list (it held the 9th position in the second quarter), while the Galaxy S24 secured the last, tenth spot in the ranking. Notably, the Galaxy A35 with 5G surpassed its predecessor, the Galaxy A34 5G, and the Galaxy A15, Galaxy A15 5G, and Galaxy A05 continue to sell as well as before.
Interestingly, Samsung smartphones accounted for 5 mentions in the Counterpoint Research list, while Apple had only 4 (the iPhone 14 also made it to the 8th spot).
In the ninth position, Xiaomi's ultra-affordable Redmi 13C appeared, mirroring last year's results of the Redmi 12C. The smartphone can take pride in somewhat breaking Apple and Samsung's duopoly.
Overall, the top 10 models from the list represented 19% of all smartphone sales globally in the third quarter of 2024.
