In addition to iOS 18, Apple also officially announced macOS 15 Sequoia. One of the most noticeable innovations in this OS is Apple Intelligence - a set of AI functions that work on iPhone, iPad, and iOS.

Among the features mentioned at WWDC: The OS will be able to manage your notifications, summarize text in emails and other applications, as well as automatically draft replies to emails. Now Siri will be able to act on your behalf in applications and obtain contextual information based on your personal information - all through voice commands. Apple Intelligence will be available "this summer" with the beta version of Sequoia, and it requires an M1 processor or newer.

Mac also gets iPhone mirror imaging, which allows you to control the phone from a Mac computer. You will receive phone notifications on Mac, as well as transmit audio. When using iPhone mirror imaging, the iPhone remains locked and even in standby mode.

Apple also updated the Safari browser, adding a range of new features. Among them are highlights that use machine learning to identify interesting things on the page, and additions to the reading mode, including summaries and content, presumably also created using machine learning. The browser also has a video content viewing mode on the page.

Keychain gets an update with a new cross-platform Passwords program, which can store many new types of credentials, including Wi-Fi passwords, access keys, verification codes, and shared passwords. It will be available on iOS, iPad, Mac, visionOS, and Windows.

In macOS 15 Sequoia, Apple finally introduces automatic window tiling.

The beta version of macOS 15 Sequoia for developers is available today, and public beta versions will be released in July. The final version will be released in the fall of 2024.
