An enterprising IT specialist from Zakarpattia sold unique IP addresses registered in the region to Russians, allowing them to pretend to be residents of Ukraine and disseminate pro-Russian views and propaganda online.
The IT specialist received payments from clients in cryptocurrency through Russian payment services. As reported by dev.ua, the man has now been detained by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
The report also mentions another programmer from Poltava who managed to profit by creating bot farms for Russians. He organized around 15,000 anonymous accounts on various social networks and sold them on the dark web for $1.50 each.
Investigative actions are ongoing — both face up to 5 years in prison.
