According to a survey by the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS), remote workers save at least one hour by not commuting to work.
On average, each respondent gained an extra 24 minutes for sleep and 15 minutes for exercise, and they spent 10 minutes less working compared to those in office settings.
Separate data indicated that "staff well-being" was one of the most common reasons companies allowed employees to work from home.
The ONS reports that 13% of adults in the UK do their work from home, while hybrid work (a combination of home and office work) has become increasingly popular, with 28% engaging in it.
Hybrid working conditions are most often utilized by parents—35%, compared to 24% for those without children. Among parents, men are more inclined towards hybrid work than women—41% versus 30%, although the factors underlying this difference are unclear.
