Previously, recommendations on YouTube were shown even in anonymous mode or after signing out of Google account, but now users are simply shown the platform's home page with the message "To get started, use the search bar".
As noted by Bleeping Computer, which tested the update on different computers, suggestions do not appear even if several queries are entered beforehand.
Some users, who have cleared their search and viewing history, or completely disabled history settings, report on X, that they also do not see any recommendations — even when logged in
Possibly, YouTube is thus insisting on the activation of viewing history, however, the company has not officially commented on the update yet.
