Up to 100 messages as one - Viber launched "chat summary" feature based on OpenAI technology

A new feature in Viber will allow you to not re-read dozens of messages in group chats, but simply view a brief summary.

The feature works based on artificial intelligence OpenAI. Since April, a brief summary of the chat has been available to 10% of Viber users as a test, and as of today, it is being launched for everyone in the free version.

The technology can analyze from 5 to 100 unread messages in group chats, highlighting the key information in one message. An example provided by the company using a hypothetical chat between neighbors Kaidash from the story of Ivan Nechuya-Levitsky:

Among other new features for group chats:

• Pinned messages (to pin a message: press and hold the message → select "Pin");
• Search in chat (click on the name of the selected chat → select "Search in chat");
• Disappearing messages (to enable: press plus → select "Disappearing messages" → choose how long the message will remain visible → enter the message and press "Send").
