In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a new mod introduces a reputation system across different nations. Depending on Geralt's actions, reputation points will be added or deducted, which in turn affects trade prices.
The Reputation System mod adds a touch of Fallout to "The Witcher 3." Geralt can no longer be a bad guy without facing consequences, and good behavior will be rewarded.
The mod implements reputation in Temeria, Redania, Skellige, and Toussaint, varying from the lowest level of "Hated" to the highest "Respectable." However, players shouldn't expect guards to immediately hunt Geralt down upon his arrival in Novigrad—consequences for a poor reputation are somewhat more subdued.
The Reputation System does not introduce a wanted system like in GTA, but it does entail financial penalties. If Geralt annoys a faction too much, common goods will cost 30% more, while shops will offer to buy items at 70% less. Bargaining will become more challenging, and odds in gambling will worsen as well. Conversely, if Geralt is respected, the conditions will reverse. Theft and other misdeeds will reduce reputation, while completing quests, monster contracts, and winning fistfights are great ways to gain fans.
However, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt did already have some elements of reputation. If Geralt consistently slaughtered cows, someone important would come after him, and a tax collector would scrutinize his sources of income.
