After several months of rumors, the wireless Beats Pill speaker is back. The updated portable Bluetooth speaker can now be ordered for $149.99, and will be available in stores on June 27.

The speaker looks similar to previous versions, but now offers dust and water protection according to the IP67 standard, wired audio with USB-C, and supports its own software features, such as device tracking on iOS and Android.

The new Beats Pill is available in black, red, or gold colors. It is a monophonic speaker, although Beats claims that the redesigned combination tweeter and low-frequency driver is better than the old Beats Pill Plus. Other specifications include up to 24 hours of battery life, loudspeaker function, and the ability to pair two Pill speakers together into a stereo system or synchronize playback on them.

Beats has been trying for a long time to equally attract customers from both Android and iOS, and the Pill continues these efforts by creating a pair with just one touch on both platforms. The USB-C port of the speaker is universal: it can charge the Pill or external devices, and also supports audio transmission.
