The Tecno X Geekom MegaMini G1 is dubbed by the manufacturer as the smallest gaming PC with liquid cooling. Its design evokes the look of compact tube amplifiers, but instead of electronic tubes, it showcases transparent pipes.
The PC is powered by an Intel Core i7 from the 13th generation and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card housed in a case that stands only 255 mm tall with a 150 mm square base. Its volume is less than six liters. For comparison, Mini-ITX cases typically have a volume of around 10 liters.
The transparent chassis of the MegaMini G1 features windows on three sides, showcasing the heat exchanger and four clear pipes connected to an L-shaped radiator on the rear panel. Geekom claims a noise level of less than 36 dB, compared to the 45-60 dB typical of a "standard PC." The striking appearance is complemented by internal RGB lighting and a small LCD display at the top.
The MegaMini G1 offers a wide array of ports. The front panel includes four USB-A ports and a headphone jack, while the rear features an additional two USB-A, two USB-C, two HDMI, a DisplayPort, and an Ethernet port. This is quite impressive for a mini-PC.
Of course, the compact size entails certain compromises. The processor and graphics card are designed for laptops, essentially making it a gaming laptop in a non-traditional form factor without a screen and keyboard, but with a robust cooling system. It utilizes laptop SO-DIMM RAM with a capacity of 32 GB. Accompanying storage options include a 1 TB or 2 TB SSD, with two M.2 slots available.
The price of the computer can be seen below and may be considered somewhat steep. For such funds, one could assemble or even purchase a more powerful PC. However, in return, the user receives an interesting design and compactness. The PC is currently available for early orders on Kickstarter, with shipments set to begin in November 2024.
