SpaceX has announced the date of the third test flight of Starship. It will take place on March 14.

The first Starship test took place in April last year, and progress slowed down after that, as SpaceX had to build a flood protection system on the site to avoid damage during the launch. After regulatory approval, which took several months, the second Starship flight took place in November 2023.

SpaceX began testing the super heavy-lift rocket Starship last year, the spacecraft has already completed several flights aimed at demonstrating its landing capabilities. NASA has contracted Starship to land astronauts on the Moon, and as SpaceX progresses in building the world's largest rocket in Texas, it is also collaborating with NASA on astronaut flights, reports Wccftech.

At the end of last month, NASA and SpaceX shared important news about Starship tests, when the space agency announced that it and SpaceX had conducted tests of the docking mechanism of the second stage of Starship. This is an essential part of the rocket, as it will allow astronauts to enter Starship for landing. The crew will launch from Earth on the NASA Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and transfer to Starship in lunar orbit before descent.
