The traditional argument that "PC has better graphics" seems to hold true with Red Dead Redemption. A YouTuber compared the game’s versions on PC and PS5.

Red Dead Redemption for PC was officially announced recently. The release is scheduled for October 29, but fans don't seem too happy—mainly due to the $50 price tag for a 14-year-old game. However, early impressions suggest that the game has been enhanced.

YouTuber Cycu1 posted a video comparing the visual differences between the PC and PS5 remastered versions of Red Dead Redemption. It appears that the PC version has a slight edge, primarily due to lighting changes.

The differences aren’t particularly striking and don’t offer anything extraordinary, but the lighting makes the visuals seem more vibrant and three-dimensional, with more natural transitions between light and shadow. There are also noticeable changes in models and textures in certain scenes. Some new visual effects, such as dust particles at the 1:04 mark in the video, are absent on the console. That said, like any graphical change, the update may not appeal to everyone.

It can be said with almost certainty that there will be a plethora of mods available for Red Dead Redemption on PC that will enhance the graphics even further. Classic games from the past, such as Morrowind or Gothic, are often hard to appreciate in their original form, but modifications significantly improve them by replacing textures, models, and animations, as well as implementing better lighting and even supporting modern versions of DirectX.
