Today, several media outlets published sensational news claiming that "Nova Post" airplanes will be allowed to fly to Lviv and Kyiv. The editorial team of ITC.UA reached out to the press service of the Nova Post group of companies for clarification and delved into the situation.

First, it is important to note that the information regarding the opening of airspace for flights is not accurate. The airline Supernova Airlines, part of the Nova Post group, has received permission to conduct regular international air transportation to and from Ukraine: specifically for the routes "Lviv — Prague — Lviv" and "Kyiv — Prague — Kyiv." This permission is valid starting from November 1, 2024, for an unlimited period.

However, this is essentially a technical permit that precedes the authorization to operate flights within Europe. The airspace over Ukraine will continue to remain closed. The actual news is that Supernova Airlines has been granted permission for charter flights within the EU.

On October 17, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) granted the company Part-TCO approval for flights in Europe, which is necessary for non-European airlines. This means that Supernova Airlines will be able to conduct commercial flights within the EU airspace, with final preparations currently underway.

It is noted that strategically, the airline is targeting long-haul flights from the US to Europe, from China to Europe, and will also be ready to conduct charter flights on behalf of third-party clients, in line with the capabilities of the Boeing 737-800SF.

Supernova Airlines was founded in 2021. The company received its operating certificate numbered UA 062, which allows it to commence its own cargo air services.
