Over 700 employees from Ubisoft France participated in a three-day strike due to a dispute over remote work and pay.
Last month, workers at Ubisoft in France were urged to strike due to disagreements regarding the company's office return policy.
The French video game industry union STJV stated that the requirement to be in the office at least three days a week was the "last straw." According to Le Monde, STJV called for the strike when Ubisoft management failed to respond to their complaints.
Clement Montigny from STJV reported that the company has forsaken its promises regarding remote work and is "questioning how they organize their lives." Concurrently, the developer of the Assassin's Creed series explained its decision as a way to boost creativity and teamwork, assuring that it "will take individual circumstances into account."
The situation has intensified amid Ubisoft's financial troubles. Following the release of Star Wars Outlaws, the company’s stock fell more than 10% in two days. In September, Ubisoft's share price was 40% lower than at the beginning of the year, reaching its lowest level in a decade.
