The completely free trial version of the cloud gaming service GeForce Now from Nvidia will soon cease to be so. Starting from February 28, users will begin to see advertisements.

This applies only to the free level - not Priority or Ultimate - and it seems that ads will not interrupt the gaming process.

Free users will start to see up to two minutes of ads while waiting in line to start a gaming session.

- Nvidia spokesperson Stephanie Ngo.

Currently, the free level often involves waiting in line before each hour of gaming - now, there will also be several advertisements. According to Nvidia representatives, advertising should help pay for the free level of service, and they expect that this change will "over time reduce the average wait time for free users."

The problem with the free level of GeForce Now, according to The Verge, has never been about queues, but rather that this tariff does not show what the cloud service is truly capable of. To do this, you need to try GeForce Now Ultimate, which provides the power of the RTX 4080, significantly reduced latency, and G-Sync support. Currently, this level costs $20 per month, without a trial version.
