Nothing has announced the release of its new wireless earbuds, the Ear (open). This model features a semi-transparent design and an open structure with hooks that wrap around the ears. The earbuds do not offer active noise cancellation, as the Ear (open) are designed for users who value awareness of their surroundings.

The new Nothing Ear (open) earbuds come equipped with speakers positioned outside the ear and a three-point balancing system with silicone ear hooks. Nothing has developed a new Sound Seal system with directed speakers to prevent sound leakage and ensure privacy.

The Ear (open) features 14.2mm titanium-coated drivers and connects via Bluetooth 5.3, supporting simultaneous connections to two devices. Each earbud is equipped with dual Clear Voice 3.0 microphones and controls for media playback, volume, and call management. Each earbud weighs 8.1g and has IP54-rated dust and splash resistance. The built-in batteries of the earbuds have a capacity of 64mAh, providing up to 8 hours of wireless use, while the charging case with a 635mAh battery extends the total usage time to 30 hours. Charging is available only through a USB-C port, as wireless charging is not supported.

The earbuds work in conjunction with the proprietary Nothing X app. Users can customize equalizer profiles and share them, adjust controls, and update firmware. The earbuds also support the Find My network, a low-latency gaming mode, and built-in ChatGPT connectivity, which requires a Nothing phone to function.

The Nothing Ear (open) wireless earbuds are available exclusively in white at a suggested retail price of $149/€149/£129. Interested buyers can already place pre-orders, with actual sales scheduled to begin on October 1.
