Mark Zuckerberg has surpassed Elon Musk and has become the third richest person in the world. In early March, Musk was in first place in the Bloomberg billionaire index, but dropped to fourth after news of his canceled exit (which Musk later denied). It was also revealed earlier this week that Tesla's car deliveries have dropped over the past three months.
This year, Musk's wealth has decreased by $48.4 billion, while Zuckerberg has gained an additional $58.9 billion. Meta's stocks are rapidly rising and set a new record on Friday. This is the first time Zuckerberg has entered the top three richest people ranking since November 16, 2020, when his wealth was $105.6 billion, and Musk's wealth was $102.1 billion. Currently, Musk's capital is $180.6 billion, and Zuckerberg's is $186.9 billion.
This year, Tesla's stocks have fallen by 34%, which is the worst performance in the S&P 500 index. This was influenced by a global slowdown in demand for electric vehicles, increased competition in China, and production issues in Germany. Meanwhile, Meta has grown by 49% thanks to high quarterly profits and interest in the company's AI initiatives. This is the fifth best result in the S&P 500.
Musk's wealth could take an even bigger hit after a judge in Delaware canceled his $55 billion compensation in Tesla. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index continues to use options from this package in its wealth calculations. Bernard Arnault, the head of luxury giant LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, and Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos hold the top two spots in the Bloomberg ranking with wealth of $223.4 billion and $207.3 billion respectively.
