Google has announced the launch of a new feature in Google Meet that allows you to transfer calls from one device to another. And such a transition occurs smoothly without interrupting the conversation.
Thanks to this feature, a user can start a Meet call on a smartphone or tablet and then switch it to a laptop if necessary. It is also possible to transfer the call in the opposite sequence, starting a call on a laptop and switching it to a mobile device.
Users with the updated application will see a new icon during a call called Switch here. Pressing this button will start the communication process on the new device without missing a moment. However, the original device will lose the connection. Although if necessary, you can keep the connection on both devices. To do this, in the Meet app, select the Other joining options. After that, the conversation will be available on two devices, giving the user certain freedom to act when they want to end one connection.
This feature works on different platforms, so users can move the conversation between PC, iOS, and Android. It has already started to roll out among users, but it may take a few weeks for its full implementation.
