Controversial streamer Adin Ross has a large fan base willing to do anything to attract attention - like sinking a car in a lake or something similar. Ross's streams usually come with a promise of reward for destructive antics. A TikToker managed to deceive his fans.
TikToker JohnJam11703 recently posted several videos featuring a fake AI Adin Ross that tricks fans into breaking things. Using the Hugging Face artificial intelligence repository, Monkey video chat program, and archived recordings of Ross's streams, he created a fairly convincing clone that people took seriously.
In one example, he made a child throw a PlayStation 4 out the window in exchange for a new TV and a PlayStation 5. In another instance, JohnJam11703 persuaded another child to break a TV for a promised $500. One of JohnJam11703's most popular videos, published on April 20, shows the artificial Adin Ross promising a child a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and $20,000 if he breaks through his bedroom wall. With permission from his mom, the child did it with a bat. It seems these children will not receive any gifts.

JohnJam11703's commentators are divided in their opinions. Some consider these pranks terrible, while others find them funny and instructive. It's astonishing how gullible people can be: teenagers are capable of doing anything to be noticed by a celebrity. However, significant material damage was done.
The real Adin Ross did not comment to Kotaku about the AI impostor trolling his fans. In February 2023, he was permanently banned from Twitch, after which he spoke with Twitch CEO Dan Clancy about lifting the ban. There have been no further reports on the developments surrounding the fake streamer.
