The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a bill aimed at enhancing the country's cybersecurity.
The document outlines a ban on the use of software products and access to electronic information resources associated with aggressor countries.
The State Special Communications Service developed this bill at the request of the National Security and Defense Council. It expands the sanctions legislation concerning digital products created by Russian companies or representatives of countries involved in the activities of aggressor states or terrorist organizations.
The bill prohibits legal entities from distributing and using software created by individuals or legal entities from sanctioned countries. The ban also applies to programs developed by companies that are partially owned by such states or are controlled by individuals involved in terrorist activities.
The document also includes restrictions on access to electronic information resources on the internet that are owned or controlled by individuals or organizations subject to sanctions. This pertains to websites, electronic communication networks, and information and communication systems.
The adoption of this bill is expected to improve the level of cybersecurity for Ukraine's information and communication systems in light of existing and potential national security threats, especially considering Russia's military aggression.
