The company vivo has introduced a new series of smartphones, the S20, aimed at the mid-range market. The main differences between the vivo S20 and S20 Pro lie in their processors, cameras, and battery capacities.
Both S20 models feature 6.67-inch AMOLED displays with FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The S20 has a flat display, while the Pro version boasts rounded edges. Both smartphones are equipped with a 50-megapixel front camera with autofocus and an optical under-display fingerprint scanner.
The vivo S20 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, with options for 8, 12, or 16 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the S20 Pro is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, with either 12 or 16 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 or 512 GB. The S20 Pro also supports the faster Wi-Fi 7 standard and 5.5G networks in mainland China.
On the back of the S20, there is a main 50 MP (OV50E) camera with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, and the vivo Aura Light ring LED flash.
The S20 Pro features a 50-megapixel main camera (IMX921) with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization.
Another significant distinction between the two phones is battery capacity. The S20 has a larger 6500 mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging. In contrast, the S20 Pro is limited to a 5500 mAh battery but features faster 90W charging. Both smartphones run on OriginOS 5 based on Android 15.
The vivo S20 is available in Phoenix Feather Gold, Jade Dew White, and Pine Smoke Ink colors, with prices starting at $317 for the 8/256 GB version. The vivo S20 Pro comes in Phoenix Feather Gold, Purple Air, and Pine Smoke Ink, with prices starting at $468 for the 12/256 GB version. Deliveries will commence on December 12.
