Recent surveys indicate that interest in Black Friday discounts is declining year after year.
According to a current Rakuten Viber survey, 64% of Ukrainians do not believe in discounts (the same as last year), while the percentage of those who do not plan to shop on Black Friday has risen to 83% (up from 66% last year), and only 4% of respondents intend to shop more actively than last year.
Among the categories that Ukrainians plan to focus on while shopping are clothing and footwear—34%—as well as food and alcohol—13%.
12% of respondents plan to purchase gadgets, with only 9% looking to buy home appliances. Additionally, 9% of participants are interested in products for children, cosmetics, and vitamins.
6% of respondents intend to buy pet supplies, 5% will shop for home and repair items, and 2% plan to purchase automotive products. Another 1% aims to spend money on discounted subscriptions or memberships.
Notably, the survey involved 30,000 users of the Viber app (details regarding age distribution, regions, etc., were unfortunately not included in the press release).
