In Steam, the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl announced upcoming fixes in the next patch. They also shared their plans for future corrections.
“The game was released just a few days ago (it's still unusual to say this), and we've been closely monitoring your feedback across all platforms. Over a million stalkers are already in the Zone, and we thank you for playing — this is an invaluable and significant moment for us. We are sure you have matters to attend to in the Zone, but so do we.”
Crashes
- Fixes for memory allocation issues that resulted in game crashes, especially during rendering and quest scenes.
Main Quest
- Fixes for main quest lockups, characters getting stuck in objects, false markers, and cutscene problems.
- Adjustments to main storyline quests to ensure smooth transitions and prevent blocked progression.
Gameplay and Balance
- Fixes for the lack of impact of upgrades on weapon or armor prices. Item costs will update correctly.
- Corrections to NPC behavior in the absence of cover during anomalies.
Cutscenes and Effects
- Corrections for missing facial animations, improper NPC placements, and visual defects — including head and clothing separation.
- Improvements in the quality and stability of visual effects.
Soft Locks
- Players were unable to close the trade menu after inserting bullets into the wrong slot while using a gamepad.
Interface
- Quest notifications will be correctly displayed during dialogues.
- Text corrections and the absence of interaction prompts have been addressed.
In future updates, the developers plan to rectify the A-Life system, which has received much criticism from players — contrary to expectations, the system turned out to be not very intelligent. Fixes for the dead zones of Xbox controllers will also have to wait, but GSC Game World is already working on it. The first patch for the game will be released later this week on PC and Xbox.
