Samsung has unveiled a budget-friendly version of the Galaxy Book4 Edge laptop, built on the new 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus platform.
The new model features a 15.6-inch FHD display. To reduce costs, the manufacturer has opted against the AMOLED panel found in the higher-end Galaxy Book 4 Edge models with 14- and 16-inch displays. Instead, this version uses an LCD panel with a refresh rate of 60 Hz compared to 120 Hz in the premium models.
To lower the laptop's price, several other features and capabilities were also removed. For instance, the 15.6-inch model lacks a fingerprint scanner, and it comes with only two speakers instead of four.
Other specifications of the new Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge remain unchanged compared to the 16-inch variant. The device includes 16 GB of RAM and an SSD of up to 1 TB. It is also equipped with two USB 4 Type-C ports, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, HDMI 2.1, a microSD card slot, an HD camera, Wi-Fi 7 module, and a combined audio jack. The manufacturer promises long battery life, fast charging, and a multi-layer security system with Samsung Knox.
The 15.6-inch Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge will be available for purchase starting October 10 in a Sapphire Blue color. The price has not yet been disclosed, but it is expected to be lower than that of the 14- and 16-inch versions.
