The gaming icon is being showcased in Munich until the start of next year.
BMW and Electronic Arts have collaborated to recreate the M3 GTR from the game Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005). The car has been added to the latest installment of the racing franchise, Unbound (2022), as part of the Vol 9: Prepare for the Lockdown update.
The automaker has created a special wrap for the E46 M3, replicating the iconic silver-blue design of BMW from twenty years ago. The company will showcase the car at the BMW Welt exhibition center in Munich, Germany, from November 27 to January 6.
“The M3 GTR model is one of the most recognizable cars in the history of Need for Speed, so for the 30th anniversary, we wanted to do something special,” said John Stanley, senior creative director of Need for Speed: Unbound.
With the Vol 9: Prepare for the Lockdown update, players will be able to drive the two-wheeled BMW for the first time — the S 1000 RR motorcycle, which will be the first bike in the NFS series. The update, available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, also adds the Honda Integra Type R and Subaru Impreza WRX ST to the game.
