Honor has unveiled its new smartwatch, the Honor Watch 5, which succeeds last year's Honor Watch 4. The latest model features a larger and brighter display, improved battery life, and more accurate health monitoring.
The Honor Watch 5 boasts a rectangular 1.85-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 450×390 pixels and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The smartwatch has a 6-series aluminum chassis, a rotating crown for easier navigation, as well as a speaker and microphone for making calls via Bluetooth.
The casing offers dust and moisture protection rated at IP68, along with 5ATM water resistance, enabling the watch to be used while swimming. It is capable of tracking various sports activities and features built-in GPS. For smartphone connectivity, it uses a Bluetooth 5.2 module. The device includes 4 GB of internal storage for music tracks. It operates on Honor MagicOS 8.
New features of the Honor Watch 5 include Scientific Sleep Management, Healthy Morning Report, and Quick Health Scan, which will assist users in monitoring their health.
The silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 480 mAh offers 21% greater energy density compared to the battery in the Honor Watch 4. When combined with the energy consumption optimizer at the system level, Honor OS Turbo X, the battery can provide up to 15 days of autonomy with typical usage.
The Honor Watch 5 will be available in black, gold, and green colors. Pricing and release dates have not yet been disclosed.
