Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) is a payment app that lets you make simple, easy and quick transactions using Unified Payments Interface (UPI). You can make direct bank payments to anyone on UPI using their UPI ID or scanning their QR with the BHIM app. You can also request money through the app from a UPI ID.

Pioneered and developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), BHIM has been conceived and launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on 30th December 2016 to bring in Financial Inclusion to the nation and a digitally empowered society.

You can make direct bank payments to anyone on UPI using their UPI ID or scanning their QR with the BHIM app. You can also request money through the app from a UPI ID.

  • Customers can make instant and direct bank transactions with their mobile number/Virtual Payment address (VPA) and avail services such as:
  • Send money by entering UPI ID, account number or by scanning a QR.

  • Request money from other UPI users by entering their UPI ID.
  • Transfer money using Mobile Number registered with BHIM. You can also dial *99# to link your mobile number
  • Customers can pay by using the Scan and Pay option in which the QR code is scanned
  • Check transaction history, pending UPI collect requests, raising complaints for declined transactions etc.
  • View static QR codes and payment addresses created through customer profile.
  • Switch between multiple bank accounts linked with your BHIM App. You can set/change your UPI PIN or check your balance
  • Customers can check bank account linked to BHIM UPI App and its PIN status. You can also set/change UPI PIN as well as the change bank account linked with BHIM and check balances of the linked account.

Customer can Access BHIM by following the below steps:-

  • First time users must download and install BHIM app from the Google Play store
  • Choose your preferred language and select your mobile number (in case of dual sim phones) linked to your bank account
  • Login by setting a 4 digit password
  • Link your bank account and set the UPI PIN by providing the last 6 digits of your debit card and expiry date
  • Go to profile and set up your VPA
  • You can scan and make payments with QR code feature to collect payments anytime.
  • You can send and receive money using your VPA, account number + IFSC, Scan and Pay option
